Q : What is unlock?
A: Unlocking your iPhone allows you to use ANY GSM Sim carrier in your phone. For example. If you have an AT&T iPhone and you put a ROGERS Sim card from Canada, your iPhone won't accept it because it is LOCKED at AT&T. So this is a software UNLOCK for iphones.

Here is a simple work around for people having problems with Blackra1n and the iPhone 3G:

1. Restore a clean build of 3.1.2

2. Close iTunes

3. Copy Blackra1n.exe to C:\ and run as Administrator (No need to run as admin for XP users)

4. Click "Make It Rain"

5. Wait for the phone to shut down, then instanly press and hold POWER + HOME

6. As soon as the Apple logo appears, let go of POWER but keep holding HOME until the Blackra1n logo appears on the screen.

In this video I show you how to jailbreak iOS4 for iPhone 3g and iPod Touch 2g with redsn0w 0.9.5 on windows or mac. This will NOT work on a MC model of the iPod touch or the iPhone 3gs, iPhone 2g, iPod touch 1g, and iPod touch 3g.

Here's how to jailbreak with todays release.
1. Install 4.0 final through iTunes.
2. Run redsn0w and when you click browse to find the firmware choose the final build.
3. It should be jailbroken know.

You can get the unlock for ios4 in this repo repo666.ultrasn0w.com. Its ultrasn0w 0.93.

To fix SMS issues rerun redsn0w using the updated one in the links. Just deselect cydia when you run it.
