How To Download Programs With An Unlocked Iphone With Tmobile?

i have an iphone unlocked with t mobile and i was wondering where i could go to download games, ringtones and other cool stuff. is this even possible with an unlocked iphone? also i just got internet service and i have not been able to get online with my iphone. does it take time to activate?
i ve seen them on youtube getting online with the t mobile phone. and i ve heard that there is no updating allowed.

You should not get online with the phone. If it downloads and installs the latest update from apple, it will kill your phone and no one will fix it...
