WARNING: Currently Apple pushed a new firmware that is 3.1.3 FW. DO NOT UPDATE . This warning applies for owners of
- 3gS Iphones
- Ipod Touch 3
- Ipod Touch 2 with serial "MC"
- Any 3g Unlockers
PLEASE DO NOT UPDATE your iphone 3g and 3gS to this firmware. Doing so will make you loose your Unlock. And you will NOT be able to use your Iphone with UnOfficial carrier. Stay on 3.1.2. Also If accidently you have upgraded to 3.1.3 then you can only downgrade your Iphone 3g/3gS but you CANNOT Unlock it since baseband remains same even after downgrading.
This video is all about Iphone 3g and 3gS running on 3.1 or 3.1.2 with baseband 5.11.07 are now easily able to Jailbreak and YES Unlock as well. Simply connect your iphone to your computer. Download Blackrain from www.blackra1n.com and run it from your computer. You will be jailbroken in 30 seconds. Now you will see 'Blackrain' Icon on your Iphone. Run it from there and install Cydia/Rock and snow. And done. YOu will now be completely Jailbroken and Unlocked on 3.1/3.1.2 Firmware with 5.11.07 baseband.
PLEASE READ: If you got your Iphone 3gS or Ipod Touch 3rd generation and it had 3.1.2 Firmware when you opened up from its box packing then YES, Blackrain acts as a tethered Jailbreak. Meaning everytime you reboot your Iphone 3gS/Ipod Touch 3rd gen, you will see Itunes logo and USB logo (recovery screen). So at this point you have to run Blackrain again from your computer. And done.
